Mesh Count

Mesh count is generally expressed in terms of weave density( number of fibers),which usually refers to how many mesh count within a column(row) meridian (parallel) for 1 centimeter (cm) or 1 inch (2.54 cm).

Weaving

Weave - three types:
PW (plain weave 1:1),
TW (twill weave 2:1, 2:2 etc.) and
AW (Panama weave1:1).

Diameter

Diameter - the diameter of mesh fibers.

Mesh Opening

Mesh opening -the distance between two contiguous warp or weft.

Open Area

Opening area-opening area percentage within per unit area of mesh. It is also known as porosity percentage, effective screen area, mesh area percentage, etc.

Thickness

Thickness - screen layer thickness (um), fabric thickness refers to the distance between the surface and bottom. Thickness should be measured in the condition of no tension. Factors influence the thickness, diameter, weave structure, and heat-setting process.

Ink Volume

In actual printing, the amount of ink is affected by varieties of factors such as mesh material, performance, size, ink viscosity, species, scraper hardness, pressure, speed and the clearance between the printing plate and substrate. Consequently, there is no definite standard, and the volume of ink was generally called by the assumption of its volume.

Suggestion Highest Tension

The maximum tensile strength that different mesh number and wire diameter can withstand and rebound. (Usually expressed in Newton or kg, 1 kg= 9.8 Newton)
